In order to strengthen information exchange and promptly absorb and remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises operating in the maritime sector in Ba Ria Vung Tau province, on March 5, 2024, Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority presided over and coordinated with specialized state management agencies at seaports to organize a dialogue conference with maritime enterprises at Ba Ria Vung Tau seaport.

Chairing the Conference were the Director of Vung Tau Port Authority, Mr. Le Van Thuc and leaders of units: Customs Department of Ba Ria Vung Tau province; Border Guard Command of Ba Ria Vung Tau province; Center for Disease Control of Ba Ria Vung Tau Province; Plant Quarantine SubDepartment of Region 2. Attending the conference were the Department of Transport of Ba Ria Vung Tau province and over 100 enterprises representing nearly 200 related enterprises operating in the region.
At the Conference, representatives of businesses focused on exchanging and proposing the authorities to consider and remove difficulties and obstacles, focusing on a number of issues such as: supporting, officially allowing goods owners to carry out phytosanitary procedures for bulk goods, goods on ships subject to quarantine at the location are the ports where the ship is expected to anchor and do cargo in order to overcome difficulties when stipulating that the quarantine location is at the anchorage positions in the Vung Tau Mooring Area, but if in bad sea weather conditions, the ship owner has difficulties in arranging watercraft to send inspection officers plant products on and off the ship and implement the work of ensuring general safety; propose to equip more suitable machinery and equipment so that plant quarantine can be deployed all night to release ships faster (currently the plant quarantine time is from 06:00 to 18:00 daily); It is proposed not to require the provision of information on the exact number of containers before issuing a license to leave the port for container ships operating on special routes because the number of goods of the shipping line can only be accurately updated just before the time the ship leaves the port (the enterprise is responsible for updating, confirm information about containers immediately after the ship leaves the wharf); propose to allow specialuse ships carrying oil or dangerous and toxic liquid chemicals (ships with loads) to enter and leave specialuse ports at night; suggested that the authorities of Ba Ria Vung Tau province not apply the mineral law to port waterway dredging used for leveling and some opinions suggested that the state accelerate the progress of investment and renovation of seaport public infrastructure and other related transport infrastructure.

On the basis of the results of the discussion, further clarification of the content and causes of difficulties and problems of enterprises, leaders of specialized State management agencies directly answered and solved most of the problems or proposals and recommendations of enterprises right at the Conference. For proposals that do not fall under the jurisdiction of the State management agencies attending the Conference, the Director of Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority has directed the staff department under his subordinates to synthesize and coordinate with enterprises to complete the report to propose the competent authority for consideration, resolve.
At the end of the Conference, the Director of the Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority, on behalf of the specialized State management agencies at the seaport, acknowledged and appreciated the opinions of businesses and suggested that enterprises operating in the region when there are difficulties and problems should proactively inform the hotline of the Vung Tau Maritime Authority or to relevant State management agencies to coordinate in dismantling and promptly settling in order to constantly improve service quality and reform administrative procedures at Ba Ria Vung Tau seaport./.
